FCP7 - Sequence missing from project and its autosaves!

I am working on a video edit project on FCP 7 which I started off with one sequence. I added a second sequence today and worked on it for 7 hours. I created new folders in the project to add new clips and audio as well - these were used in the second sequence. I have autosave on and saved the project at the end of 7 hrs. And then I quit FCP and restarted after a couple of hours. I cannot see the second sequence I added in the project file and in any of the 10+ autosaves I had during the course of 7 hours of editing. I can see the additional folder I created and the clips and audio I added but not the second sequence I created. My original sequence is present in the project. Any idea about what may have happened ? I don't recall deleting the sequence at the end by mistake. Even if I did, my autosaves should have had something. If anyone has any idea what may have happened and any suggestions for recovering my 7 hours of editing, it would be great!
